Weighted by difficulty
A hard question is worth more than an easy one. A wrong answer costs a fraction of the question's weight, scaled to how many choices it had, so guessing does not pay. The total is scaled to 1000.
Normed against your age
Your score is compared to the distribution for your age group, not to everyone at once, then converted to an IQ on the usual 100-mean, 15-point scale.
Ranked exactly
Your percentile comes from the Gaussian cumulative distribution rather than a lookup table, so "better than 87.6% of your age group" means what it says.
